  • Maria Vasilevich Crowned Miss Belarus 2018

    Maria Vasilevich from Minsk was crowned as Miss World Belarus 2018 in the grand finale of Miss Belarus 2018, which was held on May 5, 2018 at the Palace of Sport in Minsk. Maria Vasilevich succeeds Ekaterina Savchuk as the new Miss World Belarus and will now represent Belarus at Miss World 2018 hoping to succeed Manushi Chhillar as the next Miss World.

    She defeated 30 other candidates to win the title of Miss Belarus 2018. The newly crowned Miss Belarus, Maria Vasilevich is 20 years old and is a student at the Belarusian State Economic University. Maria hopes to become a TV presenter someday.

    It was a popular contest with more than 700 casting auditions. Maria was competing with 30 other finalists for the white gold, cubic zirkonia and topaz crown. She also received 12,000 Belarusian rubles ($6000 USD) prize money and a SUV Geely Atlas 4x4 car. There were approximately 3,500 spectators at the 11th edition of the contest. The National Final is run by the Head of State and the President of Belarus attends. It is a culmination of three weeks of beneficial, hard work.

    During the same event, Margarita Martynova from Slonim was titled as the first runner up and Anastasia Lavrinchuk from Minsk was adjudged as the second runner up.
